Maria has been passing it forward by giving underprivileged children in the area she grew up in arts training at Harms Elementary and the non-profit organization Living Arts. TechTown Grants "Macho Men" Film Expansion

As the Detroit-based business incubator of theatrical and media production company Oro Entertainment, TechTown recently awarded producers Maria Costa and Francisco Segovia a grant to complete the screenplay for the feature film translation of Macho Men, and are providing support for the live Macho Men shows to expand into untapped urban markets nationwide. Click here to read the press release

Maria arrived on the Red Carpet in a dress designed and sewn by Celia Cruz's personal dress designer, Irma Penalver. The guests enjoyed delicious food by Celebrity Chef Kurt Ehrlich, danced all night to the live music of Johnny Polanco y Su Conjunto Amistad and with the Brazilian samba dancers. Image Entertainment Inc., a leading home entertainment company, acquired Maria Costa’s live comedy concert DVD, “Macho Men and the Women Who Love Them”, for domestic and foreign distribution. Image has distributed comedians, Jamie Fox, Kat Williams, Wanda Sykes and Margret Cho.
