Humanitarian

 

Maria has a passion for empowering underprivileged children through the arts and her foundation, La Bella uplifts young Latina and African American girls to celebrate themselves. Maria personally gives of her time and talents to train and mentor minority children in under-served areas in the performing arts. A portion of Maria's tours are allocated to giving low income girls scholarships to study theater, dance and writing.  

 

"I received part of my early training from a community program in my neighborhood before formally studying at Wayne State University. It brings me so much joy to contribute to these girls who remind me of myself at that age and to see them discover their self-expression, confidence and power through performing. Any chance I get, I remind them of their greatness, their beauty inside and out as well as tell them that they can do anything they put their minds to."
